Business Software

Notes on building software for the way a business actually works, rather than the way an org chart says it does.
Start with the process, not the feature list is the argument I keep coming back to with clients. A feature list describes what somebody imagines they want. The process that currently takes three people, a spreadsheet and a weekly meeting describes what they actually need, and it is almost always the better place to start scoping.
This archive is thin on purpose. It fills up when a project is finished enough to write about honestly.
