Why I'm migrating Knowledge ERP from my own framework to Laravel and Filament is the honest version of a decision most solo developers put off. I had a working custom PHP framework, and I moved off it anyway. Why I built my own website platform covers the other direction, building something new because what existed did not fit small business sites.

Both come back to the same tradeoff. Owning your tools costs time you could have spent shipping, and sometimes it is still the right call.
